Message comments made by others and didn't think he was including me in that reference. I think my post history bears that out since I don't think I've ever made such a reference.

However, in case there's any ambiguity about what I wrote in my original post here are some clarifications:

1) While AMS hasn't resorted to the tactics outlined in that article, the link was a counterpoint of John's post about the publicity issue and I wanted to show the irony of this person's efforts to get more publicity/business and now he's behind bars.

2) 'I know the reference was "any" publicity but that wouldn't (IMO) include defrauding...' This goes more towards the second part of my post. I believe there could be a case of fraud where one could challenge them on the extent of their product design efforts if there were a product liability case against AMS. And this was the basis to my reference about AMS facing a similar fate as the person in the linked article and the resulting irony: fraud charges - maybe not to the extent of what Coz did with the fuel rails - but I'm sure the right lawyer could find something that could stick.

Yes, there are plenty of other factors to be considered such as the "for off-road use only" disclaimers and it's not my intention to delve deep into the semantics other than to say that I'm certain a well-seasoned lawyer could successfully challenge the disclaimer and come out on top.

I'm mostly putting up the framework that something similar could happen to AMS and without any proper proof of doing their design work the hard way, I think they could find themselves in some very hot water.
